Local authority maintained schools receive the majority of their funding through the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG). The DSG covers all educational activity and is allocated by the Department for Education on an annual basis via the Education Funding Agency (EFA). The DSG is split into three ‘blocks’: schools block, early years block, and high needs block. Academies and free schools are funded directly by the EFA.
The ADCS policy committee with lead responsibility for the pupil premium is the Resources and Sustainability Policy Committee.
