Oxon CC Guidance on use of Mental Capacity Act 2005
At the January 2016 joint policy committee between the Families, Young People & Communities Policy Committee and the Health, Care & Additional Needs Policy Committee, members discussed the emerging issue of the application of the deprivation of liberty safeguards to young people aged 16 and 17.
Oxfordshire County Council has agreed to share with ADCS members their local guidance on the use of the Mental Capacity Act for this group of young people. Oxfordshire would welcome any comments members have on the guidance and would welcome any examples of guidance being developed on other areas. Please send comments and examples of guidance to esther@adcs.org.uk
