Children’s Residential Care Review
Commenting on the Prime Minister’s announcement of a review into children’s residential care, Andrew Christie, Chair of the ADCS Health, Care and Additional Needs Policy Committee, said:
“Our members welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement of a review into children’s residential care which will shed a spotlight on good practice across the country and highlight what we could do better to meet the needs of the most vulnerable children and young people in our care. Residential care definitely is a vital element of the provision we make for children and young people in care; but we need to make sure that the services offered deliver improved outcomes and provide good value for money for local authorities who are facing increased resource and demand pressures as funding is cut. ”
