Comment on HMCI Comments at the Launch of Ofsted’s Annual...

Dave Hill, President of the Association of Directors of Children’s Services, said:
“The role of the director of children’s services carries huge financial and professional accountabilities. For nearly 12 years it has been the single and ultimate line of accountability for outcomes for children and young people in a locality. Those of us who hold this role rightly expect public and professional scrutiny, but when services are not yet good enough it is never the fault of a single individual. If the inspected and the inspectorate are to really make improvements to children’s services we must focus our efforts on the improvement process and turning around services for children, young people and their families.”
