Policy Position Paper on Local Safeguarding Children Boards

The purpose of this short policy position paper is to articulate the professional advice of the Association of Directors of Children’s Services (ADCS) members and to make a small number of recommendations to government, with respect to Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs). This paper does not cover the LSCB function to undertake serious care reviews. ADCS fully supports the statutory requirement for every top tier local authority in England to establish an inter-agency LSCB.
