Reports of amendments in the Children and Social Work Bill

Commenting on reports of amendments in the Children and Social Work Bill, Dave Hill, President of ADCS, said:

“Whilst we recognise that innovation is a crucial part of enabling local authorities to work in different ways to provide services in their communities, especially at a time when budgets are severely reduced but demand is not, we also acknowledge the concerns that have been raised by the sector around the power to innovate clause in the Children and Social Work Bill. We will continue to work within the statutory framework to improve the lives of children, young people and their families wherever they may live and await confirmation from government on the reported amendments in the Bill.”
