Safeguarding Pressures

ADCS Safeguarding Pressures National Research

ADCS Safeguarding Pressures research has provided evidence of trends in safeguarding activity and the provision of services to children and their families based on information from local authorities in five phases spanning 2007/8 to 2015/16. Through each phase, significant increases in safeguarding activity have been reported together with the range of contributing factors, including austerity.

Phase 5, published in 2016 brought together evidence about early help and social care services from 132 local authorities (87%).

Phase 6 is underway and early indicators suggest an even higher response rate from local authorities to inform the research.

Each stage of the research is available via the links below.
