Special Guardianship Orders
Special guardianship orders (SGOs) are intended for those children and young people who cannot live with their birth parents and who would benefit from a legally secure placement. They offer a route to permanence without the legal separation involved in the process of adoption.
The ADCS policy committee with lead responsibility for special guardianship orders is the Health, Care and Additional Needs Policy Committee.
