Funding
Central government has been reducing the funding it provides for the delivery of all public services, including local authorities. In some areas this reduction has been as much as 40% and this downward trend looks set to continue until 2020. As a result local authorities are moving away from the delivery of services towards commissioning or are innovating and doing things differently. Maintaining the status quo is no longer an option.
Funding issues fall within the remit of the Resources and Sustainability Policy Committee.
