Improvement
Local authorities take part in a wide range of sector-led improvement activities. The guiding principle that underpins this work is that councils are both responsible and accountable for their own performance. Local authorities also have a collective responsibility for the performance of the sector as a whole as evidenced by the sharing of best practice in the design and delivery of children’s services.
