Adoption is a key area of focus for local authorities, adoption agencies and government.
The Health, Care and Additional Needs Policy Committee has lead responsibility for adoption policy. ADCS is a member of the Adoption Leadership Board (ALB) - the national board with the remit to drive improvements in the performance of the adoption system in England.
Gov.uk hosts a range of information on adoption issues including national minimum standards, statutory guidance (2013) and the regional adoption agencies programme.
