Kids Company Allegations

Responding to the recent allegations of child abuse Alison O’Sullivan, President of the Association of Directors of Children’s Services, said:

“It’s always very distressing and concerning when children are abused by those who have a professional and moral duty to protect their best interests. What is essential in these circumstances is that the focus is always on the welfare of children and protecting them from harm. And any worries must be properly raised and investigated to make sure children are protected.

“We would urge anyone with information to go to the police or their local authority so that there can be a full and rigorous enquiry into the allegations. And going forward we will be supporting our members to ensure that any concerns raised are dealt with appropriately and that services are in place to offer victims and their families the support they will need.”

The Association of Directors of Children’s Services (ADCS) Ltd is the professional leadership association for Directors of Children’s Services and their senior management teams in England.
