An alternative vision of Regional Care Cooperatives
An alternative vision of Regional Care Cooperatives; organising and operating at the right level to meet the needs of children and young people
ADCS has raised significant concerns about the model of regional care cooperatives as described in ‘Stable Homes, Built on Love’ and has developed a discussion document setting out a possible alternative vision. It describes how local authorities and partners could come together within a system of commissioning to better meet the needs of children and young people. It envisages commissioning activities taking place at different levels, dependent on localised challenges and pre-existing relationships, with activities at LA, sub-regional and regional level nestling into each other. Local authorities cannot achieve this vision alone so there is also an ask of government to deliver the conditions needed for success.
